Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy is based on the science of learning and behavior. ABA uses an evidence-based approach to help individuals and their families achieve meaningful outcomes. Therapy is individual to each child and their needs.
A certified clinician will work with families to identify behaviors that are socially significant for that family and their child. These behaviors may include but are not limited to areas of communication and language, social interactions, self-care, safety, life skills, and other developmental milestones.
ABA is fun! We put a strong emphasis on getting to know our clients and building a strong rapport with them. We build the things they enjoy into our programming to keep therapy engaging and enjoyable for them. We rely on positive reinforcement to strengthen skills or teach new skills. When necessary, we use the same approach of reinforcement to teach replacement behaviors to reduce challenging behaviors. We help our clients develop the skills they need to navigate each day, advocate for themselves, and be more independent. Our goal is to improve their quality of life.
